Hello-
I have been neglecting my email newsletters. I am very sorry for that. A lot has happened in our church since my last letter. I can't cover everything, but I want to cover some of the high points.
The Advisory Board had a meeting last Sunday. Many of the decisions were about the schedule of many different things. Here is a summary of what we talked about:
The Advisory Board is open to anyone deaf or hearing. There is really no requirement. You can come just once, or every time. It is just an opportunity for you to tell us what you want in the church. This can be everything from the music to mass times. We will announce the next meeting in mass. If you would like to make any request or voice your opinion at any time, please feel free to email me, or give me a note after mass. Please, feel free to let me know how we are doing or if there is anything else you would like to do.
Last Sunday, our gospel was about Jesus calling two apostles: Simon and Andrew. Jesus calls the apostles while they are working. He offers them a new job as fishers of people. The gospel says they immediately left their nets and followed Jesus. They didn't tell Jesus to wait until after work. They didn't tell Jesus, "It isn't Sunday, we don't have to do holy work on any day except Sunday." They abandoned their nets, and followed Jesus.
So What! That was 2000 years ago, things are a lot different now, right? Wrong. Jesus is still calling us to do His work. To choose to follow him and to show that we want to follow him by being nice to each other, fair business practices, helping the poor, visiting people in jail, and many other options. (Our church is in need of people who are willing to help on Wednesdays and Saturdays for food distribution between 10 and 12 noon.)
My challenge for you is to think about the people we hurt everyday. Look for and thank the cleaning crew people at work. Look for how Jesus is calling you to do his will today and everyday.
Thank you all- See you on Sunday!
Br. Adam Zawadzki OP Miss.

I know it was a over a month ago, but I do have the pictures for the Christmas party. Here they are. At the last advisory board meeting, we voted to do this again for Easter. I am in the process finding a different restaurant. I will announce when we have made plans.
