We Welcome a New Brother
In September of 2009, the Dominican Missionaries for the Deaf Apostolate were delighted to welcome Phillip Odino as a postulant. Phillip is from Kenya in Africa, and is hearing. Deaf education is very limited in Africa. Because of this, Phillip was unable to learn sign language before he came to America to join us. He is currently a student at San Antonio College.
Postulancy is the first step in joining a community. It is simply a way for a man to say he is interested in community life and wants to try it. In a few months, Phillip will begin his Novitiate. The Novitiate is a time of intense discernment and learning about the community.
Please pray for Phillip as he begins his discernment with us.
