Postulancy
In our order, postulancy lasts for one to three months. During this time, a postulant tries to mold himself to the rules of our community. This includes mass and prayer times. Postulancy is a more formal way of testing the waters as an individual tries to discern if this is the path to which God is calling him.
Novitiate
At the end of Postulancy, you enter the Novitiate. This is a one-year period during which the novice learns the history, lifestyle, and constitutions of our community. This is a period of intense prayer and discernment:
- Do you really want to enter this community?
- Are you ready to take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience?
